Jmar & Kenny
You all know that I just love small intimate weddings. One big reason is that couples often get ready together at the start of the day. Jmar and Kenny got ready together at a bed and breakfast in Amherstburg. Everyone was relaxed and comfortable, which really gave space for touching moments between them that represented their beautiful and contagious love.
This wasn’t surprising, since our first meeting was in their home. They are dedicated to making others feel welcomed and comfortable. It was there that they spoke of the importance of having their day documented. Hearing those sentiments really touches the core of why I shoot weddings. My goal is to document these special days as a gift to future generations, introducing each other through heirloom photographs.
As we walked to the Lord Amherst pub for pre-wedding drinks, we happened upon a Harry Potter festival in town. At the pub we took epic photos in the wine tasting room. Then more photos at Kenny’s family’s place. And then we raced over to the Oxley Winery just in time to dodge a huge storm. Or so we thought! It of course poured during family photos. But, the beauty of the storm was the stunning rainbow that kissed the sky afterwards.
Just like I do at every wedding, I cried at their first dance. With the backdrop of the vineyard, they danced under the stars to “You are the Reason” by Calum Scott. There is nothing more wonderful than experiencing something so special to a couple as they begin their new lives and husband and husband.
